First things first- I am a huge fan of Spotify in every way. I think it is one of the best products/services recently created. I could go on and on about the benefits- collaborative playlists (eee!), social interaction, playlist creation, offline listening, library imports, yadda yadda yadda- I’ll stop there.
With that said, it’s apps. Oh my goodness, it’s apps. I adore finding new tunage & these apps make it the easiest thing ever to get turned on to fresh artists. They have truly embraced the indie music scene, which is ideal for the taste I have about 80% of the time. That other 20%, I listen to a wide range of genres, so it’s really fantastic that they have apps that cater to that. So if im feelin frisky, I switch the app and there’s a brand spankin new playlist full of great music. Yes, great music- who ever chooses the artists to be featured on these apps has phenomenal taste.
I get so excited for companies like this, especially when they are set out to benefit the common people. If you haven’t done so already- check out the apps. If you haven’t signed up for Spotify and are still using Pandora, kick those repeat tracks in the face and budget the $10 a month to switch over- what are you thinking?
Spotify Developers: step up the interface on the mobile version- we need apps & radio!
